Palimpsest

Your Notice of Privacy Practices as an accessible page and a printable copy, linked from every page's footer, with every revision dated and kept.

For US medical, dental, chiropractic and therapy practices on WordPress. 45 CFR 164.520(c)(3)(i) says a practice with a website about its services must post its notice there, prominently.

Not legal advice. The words of the notice are the practice's own.

What it does

Inside Palimpsest

The notice page

put [palimpsest_notice] on a page. It shows the notice in effect today, its effective date, a printable copy, and every earlier version with the dates it was in effect.

The footer link on every page, once you choose the page.

The door

a draft goes live only when it says every thing 164.520(b)(1) lists - the header statement, uses for treatment, payment and operations, the rights (restrictions, confidential communications, access, amendment, accounting, a paper copy), the practice's duties including breach notice, how to complain to the practice and to HHS with no retaliation, a contact with a phone number - plus the Part 2 substance use disorder statement from 16 February 2026 for a practice that receives those records. It also refuses a backdated effective date and the accessibility mistakes a page of words can make (no headings, a skipped heading level, an image with no alt text, a "click here" link).

Versions are never edited

A change is a new draft with a new effective date and a one-line note of what changed; the editor shows the paragraphs added and taken out. Each old version shows the date it may be deleted: six years after it was last in effect (164.530(j)).

No patient information is asked for or stored. Uninstalling deletes nothing.
