Rateboard

Hosts your CMS standard-charges file the way 45 CFR 180.50 asks: the file name, cms-hpt.txt at your site's root, the "Price Transparency" footer link, and the 2026 attestation - with a reminder before the yearly update.

For small and rural US hospitals and critical access hospitals whose website runs on WordPress.

Not legal advice. The charges in the file are the hospital's to get right; Rateboard checks the parts a machine can see.

What it does

Inside Rateboard

The file name

checks each file is named <ein>_<hospital-name>_standardcharges.json (or .csv) with the location's own EIN, and shows the right name when it is not.

cms-hpt.txt is answered at https://your-site/cms-hpt.txt with location-name, source-page-url, mrf-url, contact-name and contact-email for every location.

The footer link, labelled exactly "Price Transparency", on every page including the home page.

The header of the file is read (only its first part - these files are large): last_updated_on, the template version, the attestation and the attesting official that 180.50(a)(3) asks for from 1 January 2026, and that charge rows are there.

The yearly update

each location shows when its next update is due; a warning on every admin screen from 60 days out, and an email to the site's admin address at 60, 30 and 7 days, on the day, and weekly once overdue.
