Waiver

Resale and exemption certificates by US state: upload, approve, tax off only where a current certificate covers the ship-to state, an audit trail, and expiry reminders.

For US WooCommerce shops selling to resellers, churches, schools and nonprofits. If you do not charge sales tax on an order, you need a valid certificate on file for it. Waiver keeps that straight.

Which certificates a state accepts is your decision on each approval. Waiver is not tax advice.

What it does

Inside Waiver

Customers upload from My Account > Tax certificates: the kind (resale, nonprofit, government, religious, other), the form (the state's own, Streamlined Sales Tax, or the MTC uniform certificate), the states it covers, the number, the expiry date and the file (PDF, JPG or PNG - checked by its contents). States with no statewide sales tax are not offered.

You approve or reject - a rejection needs a reason, and the customer is emailed it.

Tax comes off only when an approved certificate covers the state the order ships to and has not run out. Pending or expired? The customer is told why tax is on.

Every exempt order records which certificate excused it and how much tax that was, at your own rates. The audit list flags any order whose certificate was missing, for another state, not approved, or expired.

Reminders 60 and 30 days before a certificate runs out, by email, once each.

Files stay private : kept outside the web's reach and opened only by staff.
