Licensee
FFL dealer checkout with no monthly fee and no outside service: dealers from ATF's own monthly list, found at checkout, checked, and shipped to.
Licensee is for WooCommerce shops that must ship firearms to a federally licensed dealer.
This plugin helps collect and check a dealer's details. It does not replace the shop's own legal duties: get the dealer's signed copy of their licence, and check it with ATF's FFL eZ Check, before shipping.
Inside Licensee
ATF's own list, no service
download ATF's monthly list of Federal Firearms Licensees (the whole country or your state) and import it. Columns are read by their names; a file that is not the list is refused, never half-read.
Find a dealer at checkout by ZIP (that ZIP first, then the nearest in the area), town, name or licence number - or type the licence number.
Checked, not trusted
the licence must be on the list, of a type you accept (dealer, pawnbroker, manufacturer by default - never a collector's licence for a firearm), and not on your blocked list.
Your partners first
dealers you work with are listed first and marked.
Shipped to the premises
the dealer's premises address becomes the order's shipping address, and the dealer and licence are kept on the order with a note.
Mixed carts
ship everything to the dealer, or ask for two orders.
The list's age is said out loud at checkout and in the admin, and flagged when it is over two months old.
A dealer look-up page for customers, and a licence field in the block checkout.
Before you start
Asked first
How often should I import the list?
Monthly, when ATF publishes it. The admin and checkout say how old the list is.
Does it work with the block checkout?
The block checkout gets a licence number field, checked the same way; the search-as-you-type finder is in the classic checkout. Customers can look a dealer up on the "Find an FFL dealer" page.
